Powered Parachuting

I recently took a ride in a Powered Parachute over Lake Minnetonka, here are some of the photos from that experience. PPC’s are low and slow flying air recreational vehicles that fly altitudes typically between 500 and 1,500 feet and 28 mph airspeed. For PPC’s that are less than 254 pounds in weight, are a single-seat and have a maximum fuel capacity of five US gallons. Because the crafts can’t fly over assemblies of people or anywhere they would pose a threat to somebody else, they are not required to be registered or the pilot to have a license to fly. Tom Fitzhenry, former Richfield police sergeant, is currently going for his license so he can instruct people how to fly powered parachutes.
