Minnesota Capitol and its current state

As beautiful as it really is, Minnesota’s Capitol is in need of repair. Sen. Ann Rest has served on a 12-member Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board for the past eight years, and Gov. Mark Dayton recently appointed her to another four-year term. Rest is working to restore the building and bring it back to the “jewel” it is. Four years ago, it was estimated that the total needed renovations at the Capitol would cost $250 million. The cost increases by $10 million to $20 million every year the repairs are delayed, and with millions spent each year on “emergency repairs” the building is in rough shape.
