World’s Largest Zeppelin – Part II

The world’s largest zeppelin, the Farmers Airship, made a historic stop in the Twin Cities on its barnstorming tour across the nation. The 246-ft long zeppelin landed in Eden Prairie July 12, and will stay through July 17 for “Air Expo 2011.” The media were taken up in flights, and these are the photos from the once-in-a-lifetime flight aboard a zeppelin, and the world’s largest at that. There are only two zeppelins in the world, and what differs from a blimp is its frame. Enjoy!

Jean Hansen sticks her head out the window of the zeppelin, while also fulfilling a dream. Hansen took her first ride on a zeppelin and crossed the last thing off her bucket list. “This is unbelievable,” she kept saying. She beamed the whole time, the smile never leaving her face. Thanking us for being apart of the momentous ride, I said the thank you was reciprocal. As a journalist, I ate this up. After overhearing our conversation, the other media picked up on it as well.
