A duck’s journey

It’s a tradition as true as newborn chicks in spring when first and fifth-graders at Clear Springs Elementary School in Minnetonka let a mamma duck and her ducklings through the school to the wild. The ducklings are born in the courtyard, which is enclosed. They then head through the school to a pond behind the school.

I must say, it’s pretty darn cute!

And the ducks make it to the pond. Yet, not without a little drama where mom got separated going through a different opening than her 13 ducklings. They reunited and made it safely to the wild.
