The volunteer-based John Philip Sousa Band conducted by Scott Crosbie performed July 28 at the Old Log Theater in Greenwood as part of the Sounds for Summer music series. The free concert also coupled as an ice cream social.
Here are a few photos from the event.
Another sweet opportunity to fly and photograph.
This chance came about when I was able to photograph for Team Oracle out of a chase plane with no door. The ability to stick my lens (and head) out of a plane to photograph was another sweet opportunity for me photographically.
An employee of Thompson Reuters was given a chance to ride in the Oracle stunt plane. Before doing their stunts, the plane was mere feet away from our chase plane. Here are the photos.
The 4th of July in Excelsior is an all-day event. From a 10K beginning 8 a.m. to fireworks capping the night off, there isn’t a dull moment. For the second year in a row an air show took place. This year adding a vintage bi-plane.
Returning for a second year was Michael Wiskus, an internationally known pilot whose death-defying maneuvers wow and amaze crowds around the world. Pulling up to 10 G forces at least 25 times during a 15-minute performance, Wiskus says he couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
I had a chance to ride with Wiskus the past two years, but this was the first year I saw him perform in an actual show. The bi-plane had better light so there are more images of that.
I was given a chance to once again ride with internationally-known stunt pilot, Michael Wiskus. The flips, turns, rolls and other death-defying air acrobatics aren’t for the faint of hearted. Though, I sure enjoyed them.
Here are some stills from my GoPro video.
Despite wet and chilly weather the Sunday of Art on the Lake in Excelsior, people stilled showed up to browse the art, taste the food and culture that is the unique art show on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. The Grammy-winning Okee Dokee Brothers still drew a crowd and people made due.
The show is a popular one around the Midwest, and this year offered a food artisan tent. These are a few photos from the day.
A few shots from “Jamison the Juggler” at the Excelsior Farmer’s Market.
